Consolidation Loans & Remortgage FAQs

Can I remortgage if I have a fixed/discounted mortgage?

Yes, even if you have a fixed or discount mortgage you will be able to remortgage. However you may have to pay an early redemption or settlement charge to your current lender. If your settlement charge is excessive it might be best to opt for a further advance or secured loan instead.

How long does the remortgage process take?

The full remortgage can take up to six weeks. However this could be shorter or longer depending on the lender involved and your circumstances.

Are there any upfront fees?

Generally there are no upfront charges on a standard remortgage. This may not be the the case in all circumstances – it is dependent on the lender and their own terms and conditions.

How much can I borrow?

This is dependent on your individual circumstances, income and previous credit history. Contact Carrington Dean on 0800 019 5696 for more information and advice.

I have had credit problems can I still re-mortgage?

Yes, even if you have had previous credit problems you may be able to remortgage. However, you may have to use a specialist mortgage lender to do so.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loans secured against it.
