Peter Dean

Profile of Peter Dean MA CA FCMI FABRP MCIArb MIPA

Peter graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in English Literature, History and Economics before completing a postgraduate Accountancy degree. He then joined Grant Thornton as a CA trainee and began specialising in Corporate Recovery & Insolvency in 1982. Peter then moved to Arthur Young (now Ernest Young) and became a Manager before joining Price Waterhouse in 1988. In 1993 he joined Mazars as a Partner before leaving, in 2001, to set up The Carrington Dean Group.

Peter has extensive experience in corporate and personal insolvency. He has advised many companies in turnaround situations and has considerable experience in construction, manufacturing, retail and distribution businesses. Peter is considered to be an acknowledged expert in both corporate and personal debt solutions.

Peter has significant experience of Investigation. He has acted as an investigating accountant in confidential investigations on behalf of the DTI in respect of Companies suspected of not trading in the Public Interest. He has appeared in Court as an expert witness and has also carried out a major Special Compliance Office Tax investigation.

He is currently the owner and Managing Director of the Carrington Dean Group Limited which is the largest independent Debt Solutions business in Scotland.  Peter lives in Glasgow and is married with three children.
